  • We've been attending Park Hill UCC for about a year now and are joining as members. Why? The church is filled with loving, open, inclusive, welcoming people who care deeply about social justice and living a life following Jesus' example of love for all. I'm delighted to have a church home where my children can learn about caring for their neighbors, the poor, the least of these; treating each other as they want to be treated; loving all God's people; and about God and the Bible. Come join us!

  • We visited for the first time a few weeks ago - May 2010 - and were impressed by the number of ways the congregation is involved beyond it's walls. In fact, they had an upcoming Sunday where they didn't even have a service but went out into the community. They called it Jesus Has Left the Building Sunday. And they announced that a group of adults and youth were leaving to work on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation a few weeks later. We like those kinds of things and it is the reason we will likely return. The worship service itself was pretty traditional, but felt a little more open-minded than that might mean. They used an alternative name for God in the Lord's Prayer - instead of Father. The sermon was very well done. The welcome at the door was impressive, as well as those who came up to say hello. We didn't feel ignored and didn't feel overwhelmed. We do, however, have to agree with some aspects of earlier reviews that didn't fully appreciate the music. All we can say is that, yes, it wasn't great, but it was inclusive of the community - regardless of talent. There is some value in that and I guess we would have to appreciate the larger idea of a community-oriented church as opposed to one with an excellent music program. No church can do it all. There were some children, and the pews had placards that said they welcome children's "giggles and wiggles." We wish them well.

  • I found this church to be exceptionally warm and welcoming. Being in a wheelchair is always iffy as to accommodations, but this church has thought it through. The pastor while very unpretentious is truly intelligent. not just intelligent but I would go so far as to say a very wise and humble man. No question about returning to these folks...they are like no other church I've ever visited.
